Henley professor appointed as government tourism expert

Professor Adrian Palmer, Head of Henley Business School’s Department of Marketing and Reputation, has been appointed to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) .

Members of the College are appointed through an open competitive process to provide comprehensive expertise in support of DCMS’ portfolio of responsibilities. The College of Experts increases the department’s access to scientific networks and broadens its evidence base, identifies key areas of research interest for the department and bolsters the provision of scientific advice to inform public policy.

The College of Experts is made up of external experts from across academia and industry and is managed by the DCMS Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) team, led by its Chief Scientific Adviser, Professor Tom Rodden. Professor Palmer brings to the College his expertise in tourism gained through management experience in the sector and ongoing academic research into tourists’ behaviour as consumers.
