The Kakabadse Report: Is Government Fit for Purpose?

Commissioned by the UK Standing Parliamentary Committee (PACAC) and supported by the Cabinet Office, this study examines the functioning of the British Government, highlighting how to enhance the minister/civil servant relationship, the role of political advisors and the contribution of civil service department boards to improve effectiveness of policy delivery.
