Professor Yelena Kalyuzhnova, Director of the Centre for Euro-Asian Studies (CEAS), was invited alongside Henley PhD student Olena Khlystova to present at the prestigious Conference on Creative Economy 2030. The conference was titled Imagining and Delivering a Robust, Inclusive and Sustainable Recovery.

Held between 8-10 November 2021, the conference was led by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). It was co-hosted by the British Council, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Secretariat, the University of Indonesia's Institute for Economic and Social Research and the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations.

It was held as a virtual policy dialogue, engaging with governmental policy makers across the Euro-Asian region. Discussion revolved around how to revive the creative economy that had been hit hard by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Professor Kalyuzhnova and Olena presented their paper, titled 'Towards the Sustainable Recovery and Inclusive Growth of Creative Economy in Post-COVID-19 World'. The study proposed effective and practical ways to help the creative economy in the countries of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program by outlining how these countries could contribute to inclusive and sustainable recovery after the pandemic.

The paper explored how to utilise international experience from countries such as Germany and the UK within CAREC countries. It also focused on the policy implications that could be considered when developing the recovery strategies for the creative industries.

Other speakers represented a wide range of institutions. These included the National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan), Waseda University (Japan) and De La Salle University (the Philippines).
