Application reminder - Level 2 Functional Skills (FS) in Maths and English

The Government policy is that apprentices (at all levels) in England must be able to evidence achievement of FS English and Mathematics, at a minimum of Level 2 (e.g. GCSE Grade C or equivalent) before they can be awarded their apprenticeship.

As part of Henley鈥檚 apprenticeship programmes process we ask for evidence of Level 2 FS at the application stage. Due to various access restrictions, in Autumn 2020 we made a temporary policy change concerning this arrangement. This policy was in place until 31 December 2020 and has now been reviewed.

From 1 January 2021 our original policy will apply, so Henley apprenticeship programme applicants must evidence achievement of Level 2 functional skills in English and Maths prior to commencing their programme.

Mislaid certificates: For those applicants that have mislaid their certificates the provides the starting point for requesting replacement exam certificates.
For those that require English and/or Mathematics at level 2 the National Careers Service has a that can be used to find Functional Skills programmes. We are not permitted to make recommendations to employers for Functional Skills training required prior to a Henley programme; however, we are able to introduce employers to other providers offering Functional Skills training.
