Huawei ICT competition 2019-2020 global final

Focusing on the theme of 鈥淐onnection, Glory, Future鈥, the event on November 14 was held online for the first time due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks the fifth iteration of the competition, which was hosted from Huawei鈥檚 Songshan Lake campus in Dongguan.

According to , more than 150,000 students from over 2,000 universities and 82 countries or regions registered, and after several rounds of intensive competition, a total of 327 of students from 109 teams made it to the global final.

The Henley Business School team, led by Qi Li and Claria Guo, won second prize for the Cloud Track project. The University of Reading also had a Whiteknights team, led by Mohammed AI-Khafajiy, which won first prize for the IoT track for Smart Healthcare project.

Claria Guo, tutor of the Henley Cloud Track team, said:

鈥淚t was an exciting journey to participate in the Huawei ICT competition. It is a very inspiring, hands-on experience. The joy was beyond words when seeing the data analysis results show up as expected. I really enjoyed working together with my team-mates and it was the close cooperation that allowed us to achieve good results.鈥

Mohammed AI-Khafajiy, tutor of the Whiteknights team, added:

鈥淭he hands-on experience from real projects development will prepare students for the requirements of industry which they could face in a work environment after graduating.鈥

Huawei ICT Academy (HICTA) at Henley Business School has developed a long-term strategic partnership with Huawei since 2015 and introduced a series of Huawei certified training courses to 91视频地址下载school students.
