Description

You’ve done the training. Now what?

If you’re like most newly qualified coaches, you’ve probably faced at least one of these challenges:

  • Struggling to get started after your qualification
  • Not sure how to find clients through your network or beyond
  • Feeling stuck when it comes to pricing, proposals or positioning yourself
  • Battling imposter syndrome or sales anxiety every time you need to "put yourself out there"

In early 2024, we surveyed coaches who had completed coach training in the last five years.
The results were stark:

🔹 91% said they struggled to know where to get started
🔹 100% wanted help with finding clients
🔹 80% felt lost around commercial conversations and offers

Many new coaches find themselves stuck - battling self-doubt, avoiding sales conversations, and feeling unsure how to navigate the coaching market.

That got us thinking……..Imagine if...

  • You no longer hesitated to talk about your coaching offer.
  • You had a clear sense of who your ideal clients were - and how to reach them.
  • You could confidently run chemistry calls, price your work, and build momentum with real clients.
  • And you were part of a community of like-minded coaches cheering you on.

That’s the vision behind the Pathways Programme which we created and launched late last year.

In this 90-minute webinar, you’ll gain practical insights and strategies to help you move closer to a profitable, confident coaching practice - while learning how to sell your services authentically, without ever feeling ‘salesy’.

What We’ll Cover:

✅ Becoming a Confident Seller – Why It Matters

While we won’t dive into the full psychometric tools from the Pathways Programme, we’ll spotlight why self-awareness, mindset and emotional intelligence are essential for sales success - especially for coaches who feel allergic to selling.

  • The importance of overcoming imposter syndrome and develop authentic sales confidence
  • Recognising what supports or sabotages your performance under pressure
  • Understanding how emotional intelligence shapes your client conversations

✅ The Sales Landscape

Learn how coaching really gets bought and sold in today’s market.

  • Who buys coaching and what they look for (corporates, SMEs, individuals)
  • How to navigate the full buying cycle - including chemistry conversations
  • Avoid the rookie pitfalls that lead to wasted time and lost deals

✅ The Sales Process

Discover what to do, who to target and how to lead great sales conversations.

  • Identify your ideal client and position your offer
  • Apply practical frameworks to guide your 91Ƶַdevelopment
  • Follow a simple, proven step-by-step process from lead to close

A Pathways pilot cohort participant said:

“The Pathways programme has been a real game-changer for me. Despite having a commercial background in marketing, I initially found it very overwhelming trying to find clients. There is a plethora of 91Ƶַmentors for coaches out there making all sorts of promises, but I chose pathways because what it offered was genuinely unique. The focus on sales, combined with addressing mindset blocks and offering practical advice, has given me the courage to step out of my comfort zone in a truly authentic way. The sense of community was also incredible; it was reassuring to know it wasn’t just me wrestling with this! As a result, I went from having zero clients to seven within weeks of the programme finishing. Highly recommended.”

Paul Emslie

Paul Emslie

After 25 years leading teams and growing businesses from the shop floor to the boardroom, Paul made the decision to retrain as an executive coach. Having experienced first-hand the impact great coaching can have on leadership effectiveness, he wanted to learn more about himself, the psychology of human behaviour, and to step into unfamiliar territory.

Completing the PG Dip in Executive Coaching & Behaviour Change at Henley Business School gave Paul the confidence to coach professionally and highlighted a key problem: new coaches struggle to gain their first 100 hours of client practice.

This insight led to the launch of The Growing Coaches, which evolved into My Coaching Place, co-founded with Claudia Day. The platform helps new coaches gain experience, stay supported, and grow into confident practitioners.

Alongside this, Paul co-created The Pathways Programme with Make Waves to help early-stage coaches build confidence, clarity, and commercial traction. He also coaches founders and senior executives to unlock clarity, confidence, and sustainable growth.
